RMDCP members’ pots are held completely separately from Royal Mail and are managed by a board of Trustees who have a legal duty to act in the best interests of RMDCP members. The pots are administered on behalf of the Trustees by Scottish Widows. Royal Mail do not have any access to your pension funds, neither would any third party in the event of administration.

In addition, to manage the day to day running of the RMDCP, the Trustees have access to reserves funds which are not attributable to members of the RMDCP. This money would allow the RMDCP to continue to operate for a period of time even if Royal Mail’s financial support was suddenly withdrawn.
